On the way to the Mississippi, Mia had to make a pit stop....

    What are you looking at?

We found a garter snake on the staircase leading down to the river.

I do a homage to the Steve Irwin. "Ain't she a beauty!"

  • Persectives from Montana

"I remember being in Billings as a little kid, I was in a grocery store. I saw a black man...

I said, 'Wow, that's a black man.' It occurred to me that that was the first black man I'd ever seen in Montana."

The Washington Post, does a great article and photo essay about the residents of central Montana, one of the lease racially diverse areas of the country, on how they feel about Presidential candidate Barack Obama.

    Conversation with the new groomer:

Groomer: "Hey, what's your dog's name?"
    Me: "Doggie"
Groomer (laughing): "You named your dog Doggie? What made you come up with that?!"
Me (offended): "I couldn't decided on another name. He doesn't seem to mind..."
Groomer (still laughing): "How can you name your dog Doggie?! You could have called it 'MyDog'!"
Me: "You gonna cut his hair or what?"

  • At the Races

Where else can a short skinny twerp make a large animal do all the work then get all the glory in the end? No I'm not talking about your job/marriage...I'm talking about horse racing!

Photos from Sha Tin Racecourse in Hong Kong.

    On a totally unrelated note.

I've been slowly (very slowly) piecing together some studio lighting equipment by buying used pieces from ebay and off the internet. I found a nice and rare high speed head being sold by wedding photographer Trevor Meeks (http://www.meeksdigital.com/). After a few email exchanges we reach a deal and he sends it off via UPS and gives me a tracking number.

I log on to UPS.com and see the following:
